A milestone achievment for our girls teams

A momentous week for Ladies football in the club as Grace Reilly became the first of our underage girls to be selected to represent her county after she was named in the Louth LGFA U14 panel. A remarkable feat for the club when you think our first registration night only took place in October 2019 and a covid hit period meant competitive football not coming to the Ramparts on till August 2020.

Grace herself did not take up Gaelic till after the club Cul camp of 2020. She made her debut in an U14 challenge away to a Dreadnots/St Nicholas combination on August 3rd 2020. Two weeks later on a historic night for the club she would make her competitive bow at home to Dundalk Young Irelanders, A first victory and first home victory achieved on a scoreline of 9-09 to 5-06. Grace lined out at right half back with her older sister Lauren making her debut playing right half forward.

Last season she helped our U14's to a win the E championship, starring at midfield as we overcame St Nicholas on a scoreline of 1-14 to 2-04 in the final to lift the clubs first Championship trophy. She also played at right half back as our U16's narrowly lost 5-10 to 5-07 in the D Shield final. A wonderful talent, with a remarkable attitude she is a magnificent role model for all our underage players. Massive congratulations to Grace and all her family, your club and team mates are all very proud.
