Smile for Shane

Smile for Shane was set up by family members to help Darren meehan and Bronagh Coleman, raise funds and bring awarness to Perthes Disease after their son Shane was diagnosed with the rare childhood condition that effects the hip. Statiscally 1 in 10,000 children are diagnosed with Perthes, while 1 in 80,000 have it in both hips. Unfortuantely for Shane, he has it in both hips causing severe pain and discomfort.

Darren and fellow Gaels team mate David Moloney are taking part in a challenge to do 5km everyday for 25 days starting tomorrow Thursday March 11th to raise vital funds for Shane, who after been diagnosed, is still waiting on what could be a life changing operation for him. All proceeds unused medically by Shane, will be forwarded onto The Perthes Kids Foundation.
