Dundalk Gaels Easter Camp

Another successful Easter Camp took place last week

Easter Camp participants

Dundalk Gaels annual Easter camp concluded on Thursday, A brilliant four days with over 120 kids in attendance. The recent bad weather thankfully stayed away and was replaced with smiles and laughter, as girls and boys from U7 up to U14 displayed a great range of skills and enthusiasm all week.

Dundalk Gaels chairperson Daniel Watters "Following the second running of our Easter Camp, there is no doubt it is a huge success. We have over 120 players involved and to see each of them over the 4 days, enjoying playing Gaelic football is a wonderful sight. On behalf of the club, I want to thank a number of people without who this could not be possible. Firstly, Sean McCaffrey for setting this up last year and continuing to do a lot of the running in the background. Our senior coaches, Dylan McKeown, James O'Connell and medic Jade Gorham, all three have taken a leading role this year so thank you for this. To our juvenile coaches who pass on the knowledge and skills they have learned to the next generation and to our underage mentors who helped out as well. Without all of you this would not be possible".

"I’d also like to thank our three main sponsors, the Marshes SC, Fyffes and Dundalk Credit Union. Your support ensures that we can run this camp for our juvenile members and it is greatly appreciated. To all our players who took part, well done to each and every one of yous. Finally, to all the parents who enrolled their children and encouraged them all to take part. We could not do this without your assistance so thank you and we look forward to seeing you all in the club as the season progresses". added Watters

Emma Hunt Duffy, head of Marketing Fyffes, Marshes SC manager Sean Farrell & Lorraine Moran of Dundalk CU presented awards on the camps conclusion

Emma Hunt Duffy, head of marketing, Fyffes "We were very happy when Sean asked us to be involved in the Dundalk Gaels Easter camp. As a local business with links to Dundalk going back over a century, we still know the importance of supporting communities in which we live and work. It was great to see all the children today on the final day of camp, a lovely mix of younger and older children, boys and girls. Well done to all the Gaels coaches and players who volunteered their time for what was a fantastic camp".
